Abstract

 Cyberbullying cases among students continue to increase and cause serious psychological impacts such as anxiety, isolation, and decreased self-confidence. This condition is concerning because the digital space is difficult to monitor, leaving victims without a safe place, even within their own homes. This study used a literature review method by examining previous journals and research relevant to group counseling, self-control, cyberbullying, and local cultural values. The results show that group guidance to address cyberbullying can be effectively implemented through the integration of local cultural values that apply in a region. Cultural values function as behavioral guidelines that are close to adolescents’ lives, making them easier to internalize as self-control in the digital world. The application of Minang local culture as the basic value of group counseling can be implemented for students through 6–8 meetings. Techniques such as rasa jo pareso, traditional musyawarah, kato nan ampek, and malu jo sopan are concrete examples of how Minang values guide adolescents in managing emotions, communicating politely, and being responsible on social media to prevent cyberbullying in the era of globalization.
