Abstract

The phenomenon of cyberbullying among adolescents is increasing along with the development of digital technology, resulting in a crisis of empathy, low self-control, and psychological disorders such as anxiety and decreased self-confidence. This situation poses a serious challenge for guidance and counseling services, especially in building adolescent character and social behavior. This study aims to examine how the internalization of Minangkabau cultural values, especially shame and politeness, can be applied in guidance and counseling services to overcome cyberbullying behavior and the crisis of empathy. The method used is a literature review, by reviewing various scientific sources related to cyberbullying, empathy, group counseling, and local cultural values. The results of the study indicate that the values ​​of shame and politeness can be an effective foundation for developing adolescent self-control and moral awareness in the digital space. The integration of cultural values ​​into group counseling services has been shown to foster empathy, social responsibility, and ethical communication skills on social media.
