The Contribution of Smartphones in the Understanding of Sex in Adolescents

Abstract

Gadgets are one of the information and communication technologies that are currently developing so rapidly. Almost all teenagers use gadgets to access various social media. As a result of the development of gadgets, many teenagers can easily access sex/porn media which has led to an increase in early marriages caused by deviant sexual behavior. The use of smartphones among adolescents has an impact on adolescent sexual behavior. This study aims to determine the sexual behavior of adolescents who use smartphones in their daily lives and why this happens, and aims to find out how the efforts made by parties related to the research object in supervising, controlling, and dealing with problems related to the sexual behavior of adolescent smartphone users. In this study, the researcher used the case study method, in which case study research is a research strategy, an empirical study that investigates a phenomenon in a real-life setting. This strategy can include qualitative evidence that relies on multiple sources and previous developments of theoretical propositions. Case studies can use both quantitative and qualitative evidence.
