The Manjalang Niniak Mamak tradition is a cultural practice in Minangkabau society that embodies the values of friendship, respect for traditional leaders, and strengthening social relations within the community. Amidst developments marked by modernization and globalization, there has been a shift in social interaction patterns, leading to a tendency toward individualism. This phenomenon has resulted in a decline in prosocial behavior, such as empathy, caring, and social solidarity, especially among the younger generation. This situation highlights the importance of alternative efforts based on local wisdom to reinstill fading social values. This study aims to analyze the Manjalang Niniak Mamak tradition as an effort to increase prosocial behavior in the community. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive literature study method. Data were obtained from various relevant literature sources on Minangkabau culture, social values, and the concept of prosocial behavior. The analysis was conducted by identifying the values contained within the tradition and their relationship to the formation of prosocial behavior. The research results show that the Manjalang Niniak Mamak tradition contains strong prosocial values, including empathy, social awareness, mutual cooperation, social responsibility, and respect for customary norms and structures. These values are instilled through direct interaction in cultural practices that have been passed down from generation to generation, thus functioning as a means of informal education in shaping individual character. Furthermore, this tradition also plays a role in strengthening social cohesion and maintaining harmony in community life. In conclusion, the Manjalang Niniak Mamak tradition has a significant contribution in increasing prosocial behavior and strengthening social integration in the community. Therefore, preserving and strengthening this tradition is important as a local wisdom-based strategy in facing the challenges of increasingly complex social change.
