Collaborative Approach Between Schools and Families In Strenghthening Adolescent Mental Health in The Digital Era

Adolescent mental health in the digital era has become an increasingly important issue as the use of technology and social media in daily life continues to rise. Excessive exposure to information, social pressure in the online world, cyberbullying, and the tendency to compare oneself to others can affect adolescents’ emotional well-being, leading to increased stress and anxiety and decreased self-confidence. During adolescence, individuals are in a vulnerable stage of development and therefore require a supportive environment to maintain their psychological well-being. In this context, schools and families play a strategic role as the two closest environments for adolescents. This article aims to examine a collaborative approach between schools and families in strengthening adolescent mental health in the digital era. The method used is a literature review involving the collection, processing, and analysis of various sources, including articles, books, and relevant case studies. Based on the literature review, strengthening adolescent mental health in the digital era is effectively achieved through collaboration between schools and families. Schools play a role through digital literacy programs, mental health seminars, and guidance and counseling services. Meanwhile, families play a role by creating a safe environment, fostering open communication, and providing emotional support that can enhance adolescents’ self-confidence and psychological resilience. The synergy between the two is a crucial factor in helping adolescents navigate the challenges of the digital era.
